SaltySnacks started with a simple complaint: most snack writing either reads like a press release or never says whether the thing was actually good. We buy the bag, cook the recipe, and tell you what happened.
What you will find here
Five kinds of writing, and nothing else. If a piece does not fit one of these, it does not get published.

Salty, crunchy, and worth the effort. Every recipe here has been cooked in a home kitchen with ingredients you can actually buy, and every one tells you what to expect before you start.

We buy the bag, eat the bag, and tell you whether it was worth it. No brand pays for a verdict here, and every review says how many bags we went through before writing it.

The long reads: how salt actually works, what separates a good chip from a great one, and how to build a snack board people remember.
- Travel Bites
What people eat between meals, city by city. Corner shops, market stalls, and the snack aisle of a foreign supermarket are the fastest way to understand a place.
- Ingredients
Flaky salt versus fine. Which oil fries best. What that ingredient list is really telling you. Start here when you want to make a snack better instead of just buying another one.
How we test
Every product we review is bought at full price with our own money. No brand sees a review before it goes live, and no brand gets to approve one afterwards.
Reviews say how much of the thing we ate and over how long. One bag on one afternoon is a first impression, and we label it as one. A verdict means we went back for more.
Recipes are cooked in a home kitchen with equipment most people own. If a recipe needs a dehydrator or a deep fryer, that is in the first paragraph, not buried in step nine.
How we make money
Some links on this site earn a commission when you buy through them. That commission never decides a ranking, a score, or whether something gets recommended. When we tell you to skip something, we are turning down the money.
